After thirty-two hours, 3 plane rides, and two continents, I finally arrived at my destination: Hogar de Esperanza in Tujillo, Peru. (House of Hope) Praise the Lord that I got through custom’s without needing my bags searched. It is good to see, when I have doubts about why I am doing this, that in every step of this process He is in control.

This is were I will be going when I get home. Notice how English is first, it will be much easier than in Peru. :-)
I enjoyed nine hours of looking at this sign, then for something to do I would double-check my boarding pass, and to make 100% sure I was in the correct spot.
I had to sit and wait for the check in counter, in Lima, to open for 4 hours (until 4 am). I was surprised at how dead the place was.
Seeing McDonald's, Papa John's, and Dunkin Donuts in the Lima airport were just a few, of many things, that triggered memories of home.

On a different note... At the time, there are only 38 kids at the orphanage. They are really sweet and lovable. They call all the volunteers and workers here Tia or Tio (meaning Aunt or Uncle) which of course reminds me of Micaiah. :-) The landscape is weird. I am in the middle of a desert, which is next to an ocean. The mountains/hills surrounding the orphanage are made of sand and then there are real mountains behind that. They almost remind me of the movie Aladdin. Anyway, they aren't like normal sand dunes. I will post pictures of the kids and the orphanage soon.
